Deer Blinds Are Not A Substitute For SKILL!

Deer hunting is a sport that greatly tests a man’s (or woman’s) patience. You can be sitting in the same spot for hours and never see a single deer, but you have to remain still and calm during that entire time – otherwise you may end up never seeing one at all!

By nature, deer are skeptical. You therefore may not give a deer any reason to suspect you as a potential threat. Of course, if a deer even sees you, it is going to see you as a potential threat. That is why deer blinds are so useful.

Of course, just because you are masked by a deer blind, it does not mean that you can move about and make your dinner or scratch at your itches and still expect to see (and shoot) a deer. Even with a deer blind, a hunter must be extremely patient and very SKILLful. A deer blind is not a substitute for SKILL!

In fact, even with a deer blind to mask him, a hunter must still know the right place to set it up. He still must remain quiet even as he raises his gun, and he still must be able to shoot at his target once it steps into range.

That being said, a deer blind is still, most definitely, going to help a hunter out. A deer blind does not just help a hunter because it conceals him, but also because it protects him – many deer blinds protect a hunter from cold and from other weather patterns, so that he can remain focused on the game at hand.

Other deer blinds will not protect a hunter against the elements, but they will still conceal him, giving him that extra leg up against the deer.

The type of deer blind that you, as a hunter, use is totally up to you! Whether you choose to simply cover yourself in netting, or if you choose to climb up into a tree, etc. completely depends on your preferences as a hunter.

In fact, if you go out deer hunting, you will find that there are many different deer hunters, with many different preferences, and many different types of hunting blinds! Some hunters will be shooting at their targets with guns, while other will shoot at them with bows and arrows. And you will even find deer hunters who prefer to not use a hunting blind at all.

Skateboarding - One of the Most Exciting and SKILLed Board Sports

Skateboarding has developed quite a bit in recent years. For decades when skateboarding was in its infancy, it was seen as an activity performed by youngsters, mainly rebel kids. In these earlier years skateboarders were perceived as outcasts who went around vandalizing other people’s property by skating on it. It is becoming more understood these days but it still has a long way to go before people will fully understand the SKILL and dedication that goes into this sport.

The basics of skateboarding like pushing yourself along the street are easy to learn but once you get into the tricks and manoeuvres such as the most basic trick, the ollie, it takes quite a bit more practice to master. You need to learn the ollie as it’s a fundamental move that is combined into the majority of tricks where the board leaves the ground. The ollie is what could be considered a “jump” where the skateboard and the rider leave the ground with the board under their feet. To really master this basic move it can take a natural skater up to a year to really get it down.

When learning to skateboard some protective gear can go a long way to ensuring your safety as you can expect to take many falls when first starting out. A decent helmet, some elbow pads and knee pads will give you the safety you’re looking for and a little extra confidence knowing you won’t get too hurt when you fall. You can buy this protective gear fairly cheap from most skate shops and even some general purpose stores.

It’s easy to get nervous when first starting out on a skateboard because your balance will most likely be very out of tune. But don’t worry, every single skater you see out there on the skate park doing all those big moves, grinding rails, doing big grabs on the half pipe, they were all just like you when they started out. It’s a sport that takes a lot of dedication, and it relies on practice. If you put in the hours you’ll be popping kick flips in a matter of months. So go out there and get practicing, it’ll keep you busy for many years to come.

The Perfect Putter

There is no "one size fits all" in putters. As in medicine, the therapeutic must be individualized for dose (amount) and interval (number of times it is given). In orthopedic surgery, the artificial hip must be fit to the size of the patient; large, medium and small.

The same individualization is necessary to find the perfect putter for the golfer. There are many factors that are either unknown or overlooked in finding the perfect putter for any given golfer.

There are two main factors. First is to determine the function of the putter by robotic testing. This determines the function of the putter head. The second step is to evaluate the psychomotor response of the golfer to the club, that is the effectiveness in the golfer's hands.

Ideally, the putter performs well on INDEPENDENT robotic testing. Notice we say independently. Most companies do not report this information and certainly most golfers have no idea of the Putting Efficiency Index (PEI) of their club. Please see our testing data, so you know what you are starting with when you buy one of our putters. This testing service is available through Prescription Putting upon request for the putter you are now using.

The psychomotor aspect of putter function is only understood by a tutorial followed by functional testing. Prescription Putting offers such a tutorial with the Alternative Medicine for Putting course. This course is available in do it yourself package and by live instructional courses.

As part of the live edition of the Alternative Medicine for Putting course, there is functional testing performed live with the golfer. We address alignment in 3 dimensions, not just one. We document at least 10 components of the putting stroke and offer comparisons to composite data collected from PGA tour players who have used this system. Suggestions are made for individualized improvement and repeat testing is performed until the golfer is satisfied.

The Perfect Putter would be a combination of a club that tested with high PEI in the hands of a golfer who had optimal psychomotor SKILLs. We are devoted to getting the best prescription for the golfer by these unique methods. It should be noted that a golfer may make putts with a lousy putter when his/her psychomotor SKILLs are off the charts. This is not very common. It also could be that a golfer could make putts with a great club and lousy psychomotor SKILLs. Both of these later circumstances require high level of the unmeasured: LUCK.

Obviously, the perfect putter is when the golfer has the best of both worlds; the best tested club and highly perfected psychomotor SKILLs. Prescription Putting can help you get the best club in the best hands you have every experienced.
